Belarus and Russia’s Rostov Oblast have signed a protocol on developing cooperation in 2015-2016. The document was inked by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin and Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev during the session of the working group on Belarus-Rostov Oblast cooperation in Rostov-on-Don on 27 April, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.
In particular, the protocol provides for more active cooperation in various areas, including economy, science, transport, utilities industry, road construction.
According to Vasily Golubev, Rostov Oblast is most interested in supplies of Belarusian buses, trolleybuses, trams, municipal vehicles, road construction machines, including those powered by gas engine fuel. In turn, Rostov Oblast is ready to supply components for mainline electric locomotives, turkey meat and duck meat, ready to share the experience of implementing innovative projects in energy industry and modernize energy installations.
According to Vasily Golubev, Belarus is an important partner for the Russian region. “Good experience of cooperation has been accumulated and there are reserves for further development of the relations. We see the mutual desire to move towards each other. The successful implementation of joint projects will allow changing the quality of lives of residents of Rostov Oblast and the Republic of Belarus,” said the Rostov Oblast Governor.
During the session the sides also signed an agreement on twinning Peschanokopskoye District of Rostov Oblast and Senno District of Vitebsk Oblast.
