Vadim Gigin noted his keen interest in watching the president’s surprise visit to inspect military units. He expressed agreement with the military’s perspective that the true mark of military excellence is achieving a state of peacetime readiness so robust that a potential foe is never tempted to launch an attack.
“After all, those abroad who are planning some kind of operations against Belarus are watching these snap inspections. When they see that conscripts are shooting accurately, that their weaponry is in order, that we can deploy reserve regiments, and that we are taking into account current combat experience, they understand that this is truly a serious force,” he said.
The director general also emphasized that the security of the country and of every inpidual is the ability to live a normal life. “Without fearing the emergence of threats, when you can freely trade, carry out various activities, and defend your interests without this being accompanied by the emergence of a military threat,” Vadim Gigin added.
