Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Kirill Zalessky has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan. During the meeting the parties agreed to step up cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, representatives of the Communications and Informatization Ministry told BelTA.
Kirill Zalessky and Zhang Wenchuan discussed the latest bilateral agenda in the field of digitization, including matters of manufacturing cooperation and prospects of cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
Kirill Zalessky noted that Belarus was ready to step up efforts and to implement the plans and tasks formulated by the two heads of state.
The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission informed Kirill Zalessky in detail about the ongoing work to set up the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO), about the consultations with international experts that took place in Beijing in January, and expressed gratitude for the active participation of the Republic of Belarus in this process.
An updated draft of the agreement on setting up the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization was forwarded for consideration of the Belarusian side.
The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission to Belarus invited the Belarusian communications and informatization minister to visit Shanghai in July in order to participate in the signing of WAICO’s founding documents.
