The railway does not forgive mistakes!
The railway is a source of increased danger! However, not all citizens observe personal safety measures and cross railway tracks wherever they please: in front of a moving train, under the carriages of a stationary train, and also walk along the railway track, including while listening to music with headphones. As a result, offenders create a real threat not only to their own lives, but also to those of other citizens. In order to prevent accidents involving citizens and road traffic accidents at railway transport facilities, a "Unified Republican Safety Day!" will be held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus from February 20 to March 01, 2020, aimed at preventing accidents involving citizens and road traffic accidents at railway transport facilities.
We would like to remind everyone once again of the basic personal safety measures when on railway transport facilities.
• Pedestrians must cross railway tracks only in designated areas, using pedestrian bridges, tunnels, and crossings.
• Before crossing the track on a pedestrian crossing, it is necessary to ensure that there is no moving train, locomotive, or carriages. When a train, locomotive, or carriages approach, you should stop, let them pass, and after making sure there is no moving rolling stock on adjacent tracks, continue crossing.
Strictly prohibited:
• Walking on railway tracks.
• Crossing and running across railway tracks in front of a closely approaching train if the distance to it is less than 400 meters.
• Crossing the track immediately after a train of one direction has passed, without making sure that there is no train of the opposite direction approaching.
• Crossing railway crossings when the barrier is closed or the traffic light signal of the crossing signaling is red.
• At stations and sections, crawling under carriages and climbing over automatic couplers to cross the track.
• Walking along the railway track closer than 5 meters from the outermost rail.
In this regard, remember that observing personal safety rules and caution will help you avoid accidents on the railway.
