"Green Shield" Guards Postavy Region

The special preventive measure "Green Shield" has concluded in the Postavy district. Its main goal is to prevent fires in natural ecosystems and minimize their consequences, prevent deaths and injuries due to fires, and enhance the level of life safety culture among the population.

Since the beginning of the fire-hazardous period, 13 fires have been recorded in natural ecosystems in the district. And the cause of these fires was – human activity.

During the raid activities, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with interested prevention entities, explained the dangers of burning dry vegetation and uncontrolled bonfires. In addition to the anticipated dangers, the algorithm of actions in case of fire was also reminded. Communicating with people, rescuers explained what requirements must be observed when making a bonfire, burning garbage, or using special devices for cooking, such as barbecues or grills.

And to ensure the conversation was even better understood, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations handed out memos to residents of the district about the importance of preventing fires in ecosystems.
