Ahead of the summer school holidays and due to the start of active child transportation, an increase in objective threats to child road safety is predicted. In this regard, from May 25 to June 5, 2023, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a republican special complex of measures to prevent road traffic accidents involving minors, titled "Attention - Children!".

During the special event, vehicles must be driven with dipped headlights on during daylight hours to attract the attention of children and all road users.

Particular attention will be focused on preventive work with parents. Police officers will visit work collectives, explain to adults the causes and consequences of road accidents involving children, remind them of the rules for safe transportation of minors, responsibility for traffic violations, and the need for a personal example of correct and safe behavior on the road.

FOR REFERENCE:

In January-April 2023, an increase in the number of road accidents involving children, as well as fatalities and injuries among minors in such accidents, was observed across the republic.
