Vitebsk customs officers at the Grigorovshchina checkpoint detected the import of tablets containing psychotropic substances into the EAEU territory.
The tablets were hidden from customs control by a Latvian citizen who arrived as a passenger in one of the cars.
A service dog indicated the presence of psychotropic substances on him.
During the inspection of the man's personal belongings, yellow and purple tablets were extracted from a key fob tube and a jar labeled "multivitamins".
According to the expert opinion of the State Forensic Examination Committee for Vitebsk region, the seized preparations contain dangerous psychotropic substances - tramadol and alprazolam.
A criminal case has been initiated against the citizen by Vitebsk customs in accordance with Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which provides for punishment up to seven years of imprisonment.
