In the Vitebsk region, the State Automobile Inspectorate will strengthen control over the road situation

Vulnerable road users will be under close scrutiny by the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Vitebsk region from May 16 to 22.

Pedestrians, cyclists, and owners of personal mobility devices (scooters, electric scooters, gyroscooters, monowheels, and others) will be under special control of inspectors. Traffic police officers will remind them of traffic rules and the importance of retroreflective elements. Special crews will patrol public roads and areas adjacent to mass recreation spots.

The State Automobile Inspectorate urges to report intoxicated pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Since the beginning of the year, 12 accidents caused by pedestrians have occurred in the region, injuring 7 people. As for similar road accidents involving two-wheeled transport, one cyclist died, he was under the influence of alcohol. One accident was caused by motorcyclists, injuring one person.
