In the Postavy district, neighbors rescued a man from a fire

On December 3, at 23:00, the operational control center of the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations received a report from the duty officer of the internal affairs bodies about the hospitalization of a man with thermal burns sustained in the village of Greitevo, Postavy District.

From the circumstances of the conducted investigation, it became known that a retired female neighbor, born in 1958, and a male neighbor, born in 1975, discovered smoke in the house. The man entered the house through an unlocked door and carried a man, born in 1962, out into the fresh air. A bed was burning in the house; he extinguished the fire with improvised means and called an ambulance.

After examination, the injured person was hospitalized with burns of varying degrees of severity to his limbs.

An investigation is underway into this incident, and the cause of the fire is being established. The version of careless handling of fire while smoking is being considered.
