Man drowned in Postavy

On August 7, at 18:07, a man contacted the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations regarding a missing person in the waters of Lake Mozheyskoye near the village of Mozheyki.

Rescuers who arrived at the scene found the missing person's belongings, a mobile phone, and a bicycle on the shore. No one was observed on the surface of the lake.

It was later established that the man had arranged to meet a friend at the lake to go fishing together. When he arrived at the meeting point, his friend was nowhere to be found, but his belongings were lying on the shore.

During the search of the lake, OSVOD employees found a single-person "Lotsman" brand boat approximately 600 meters from the shore, moored to the bank. Later, 5 meters from the shoreline and 50 meters from where the boat was found, the body of a drowned man, born in 1968, was discovered and recovered from the water. The Postavy District Department of the Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation into the drowning.
