In the rescuers' den
The long-awaited holidays have begun, and with them, the summer health camps have started operating, where children not only have fun but also spend their time productively. As part of the republican campaign "Holidays – without smoke and fire!", one of the stops for sports and patriotic groups is learning about the profession of a rescuer.
At the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations, rescuers conduct excursions for children attending summer camps. Seeing firsthand the daily life of people whose calling is to risk their lives to save others is an exciting activity. Children were able to undergo rescuer training on an obstacle course and experience the difficult path that must be taken to save people. There was no shortage of those eager to hold equipment, try on a compressed air apparatus. No one could refuse the opportunity to sit in the cab of a fire truck and take a memorable photo. And the ongoing unit drills only complete the picture of the rescuers' daily lives.
Following the excursion, the children concluded that rescuers are ordinary people, but they are still heroes among us.
