According to the results of 10 months, the number of elderly citizens who suffered from crimes increased by 8.3% in the region.
The analysis also found that a significant number, 31.1%, of crimes committed against this category of citizens were thefts by modifying computer information, and their number increased more than 3 times compared to the analyzed period of last year.
The purpose of the campaign is to prevent crimes and offenses against elderly citizens residing in the Postavy district and the city of Postavy. The events will be held from November 19 to December 07, 2025. During these days, police officers, when visiting elderly citizens at their place of residence, will explain methods of protection against criminal encroachments (cybercrimes, thefts, fraud, crimes against life and health, etc.). Briefings and presentations will be held in the work collectives of organizations, and various information on legal education of citizens on forming skills for ensuring personal and property safety will be placed in regional mass media, including using the global computer network Internet.
