The aim of the campaign is to strengthen driver discipline in observing speed limits
An analysis of the operational situation on the region's roads indicates that in the summer period, the number of road accidents related to drivers exceeding the established speed limit or making an incorrect choice of speed given the road conditions increases. Such road traffic accidents, as a rule, lead to severe consequences.
The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds that exceeding the speed limit by 10 to 20 km/h is punishable by a fine of up to one basic unit (up to 24 rubles 50 kopecks).
Exceeding the speed limit by 20 to 30 km/h will result in a fine of one to three basic units (from 24 rubles 50 kopecks to 73 rubles 50 kopecks).
For exceeding the speed limit by 30 km/h or more, the fine is from three to ten basic units (from 73 rubles 50 kopecks to 245 rubles).
If a similar violation is detected repeatedly within a year, drivers are fined an amount from five to fifteen basic units (from 122 rubles 50 kopecks to 367 rubles 50 kopecks) or deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for up to one year.
Traffic police inspectors will use overt, covert, and mixed control over speed limits during their duty.
To ensure safety on the roads of Postavy district, and to preserve people's lives and health, the State Automobile Inspectorate urges drivers to observe the established speed limits!
