Generational connection: Vitebsk customs officers congratulated a resident of besieged Leningrad on the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory
This visit was part of a large-scale campaign to honor war heroes and equivalent categories of citizens. For customs officers, such meetings are not just a tradition, but a sacred opportunity to personally express gratitude to those who endured the most difficult years in human history.
Lina Andreevna's fate is an example of incredible resilience. Having survived all the hardships of the Leningrad blockade, she retained her creative energy and kindness. Her career path deserves special respect: for more than 20 years, Lina Andreevna worked as a secretary at children's labor colony No. 1 in Vitebsk. She not only made a significant contribution to her professional work but also realized herself as a wonderful mother, raising three sons.
The veteran's military and civic achievements are evidenced by her awards: the "Resident of Blockaded Leningrad" badge, the commemorative badge "Veteran of the 1941–1945 War," and numerous jubilee medals.
"For us, Lina Andreevna is a symbol of courage and indomitable will," noted Sergey Linkevich, Head of Vitebsk Customs. "Communicating with such people gives us an understanding of the true value of a peaceful sky. It is our duty to surround them with care, attention, and preserve the truth about that war for future generations."
In a warm home setting, the guests wished Lina Andreevna good health, longevity, and a peaceful sky above her head, presenting flowers and gifts from the staff of Vitebsk Customs and RUP "Beltamozhservice".
