Thefts from dacha houses in Postavy district for 9 months of 2018

In Postavy district in 2018, compared to the same period last year, the total number of thefts committed from dacha households decreased from 6 to 4 (or -2). Of these, the perpetrators were identified in 2 cases (2017 – in 3). The clearance rate for this type of crime was 50% (2017 – 50%).

Based on the analysis by territorial division, no crimes of this type were registered in gardening cooperatives. All thefts were committed from houses used by citizens as dachas. The largest number of crimes from dacha houses were committed in Novoselkovsky rural council – 3 (Yelnyaki village, Sokoly village – 2) (2 solved), 1 crime was committed in Kuropolsky rural council, Kundry village (this crime was not solved).

The objects of criminal encroachments were: household appliances – 1 case, money and securities – 1, non-ferrous metals -2.

By time of crime (months of detection): March – 2; May – 2;

By method of commission, only 1 case was committed by free access in Sokoly village, 3 cases involved breaking into dacha houses through doors, windows, vents, taking advantage of insufficient technical security of the households.


In 2018, there is a decrease in this type of crime, and overall, the operational situation related to thefts from dacha houses in the district is stable and under the control of law enforcement agencies. No crimes of this type were allowed in gardening cooperatives. At the same time, the analysis indicates the seasonality of crimes from dacha households, mostly in the absence of owners in spring. Most crimes of the type under consideration were committed by intrusion, due to insufficient technical security of households.

In order to prevent and deter thefts committed from dacha houses, based on quarterly analysis of the current operational situation:

Presentations are held in labor collectives, settlements in courtyards and gardening cooperatives. A total of 16 presentations were held. 3 meetings were held with chairmen of gardening cooperatives. 12 presentations were held in the territories of gardening cooperatives, with the distribution of informational materials on theft prevention, on the capabilities of Postavy ODO in ensuring the safety of inventory. During the harvest season, markets were checked weekly for stolen property. 175 preventive leaflets were distributed (in places of mass gathering of citizens). In addition, on an ongoing basis, OGAI patrols and car patrols conduct checks of gardening cooperatives, checks of suburban vehicles to identify stolen property from dacha households, and Postavy ODO patrols conduct daily raids to check suburban trains. Preventive information, information about the phone numbers of the District Department of Internal Affairs and business cards of district police inspectors are placed on the stands of gardening cooperatives.
