The republican campaign "Children in the Spotlight!" is launching.
To draw public attention to the problem of injuries and deaths of children from fires due to being left unattended, a preventive campaign "Children in Focus!" will be held in the republic from August 16 to September 10.
The first stage of the campaign will take place from August 16 to August 31 at retail outlets specializing in goods for preschool and school-aged children. To attract the attention of adults, in departments selling children's clothing, in addition to school uniforms, real firefighter-rescuer clothing will be displayed, supposedly for sale, and in stationery departments – fire extinguishers and autonomous fire detectors. Thus, rescuers will remind parents that when preparing children for school, one should not forget about safety rules that cannot be bought, but can only be taught to one's child. Preventive work will be carried out with parents and children to prevent emergencies. Rescuers, activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Organization of Rescuers-Firefighters, and members of young rescuer-firefighter clubs will remind about the causes of emergencies, including those involving children, explain how to behave correctly to save lives and health, explain what carelessness in handling fire can lead to, and present small gifts for school from the Ministry of Emergency Situations: brochures, memos, booklets, etc.
The second stage of the campaign is planned from September 1 to September 10 in general education institutions, where Ministry of Emergency Situations employees will conduct thematic "Safety Lessons," briefings with teaching staff, and also participate in parent meetings. In addition, events within the framework of the second stage of the campaign will be held in labor collectives of enterprises and organizations, where, in addition to preventive talks, thematic platforms will be organized to teach safety rules and actions in case of emergencies.
