28 years of service

Viktor Vyrvich, senior rescuer-instructor at the fire and rescue post of Voropaevo urban settlement, Postavy district, dedicated 28 years of his life to firefighting, and here is the result.

He began his professional journey in the distant year 1995 in the paramilitary fire service.

In 2007, due to circumstances, he had to leave the service, but after a short time, he returned to his beloved profession and, as a result, remained loyal to it for 28 years. As the newly retired pensioner modestly states: "I always wanted to be useful to people, and the romanticism of the uniform only pushed me to join the ranks of rescuers. Now, having gone through such a difficult path, various moments from my service life come to mind. There are funny ones, when you could harmlessly joke with comrades. There are also those when it seemed I was on the verge of death. In such moments, time has no count, everything freezes as in a movie, and life flashes before your eyes. But even in those truly terrifying moments, I never regretted coming here and being exactly here, exactly at this minute, exactly in this very place. This means I made the right choice and will remain true to it until the end."

As the veteran of the Ministry of Emergency Situations himself said, technology has advanced, and if before comfort and mobility could only be dreamed of, now it has become a reality, and serving has become much more pleasant.

At his farewell, Viktor Vladimirovich heard many sincere and warm words and, according to tradition, received gifts reminding him of his colleagues. There was also a ceremonial passage under a invigorating shower, where he had to get his uniform wet for the last time.

In turn, he left a mandate: "Serve honestly and be principled in your duties!"
