The special complex event "Arsenal" will be held from October 4 to October 8, 2021.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus is conducting a special comprehensive event "Arsenal" from October 4 to October 8, 2021. The main goal of the event is to counter the illegal trafficking of weapons, ammunition, explosive devices, and explosives, to improve the crime situation related to their use.

During the elapsed period of 2021, 12 units of weapons were seized (7 registered units, including: 2 rifled, 5 smoothbore; 5 unregistered smoothbore units).

10 units of registered civilian weapons were voluntarily surrendered (9 smoothbore units, 1 rifled unit), 5 units of unregistered smoothbore weapons. Also, 373 ammunition rounds were surrendered.

In 2021, 6 criminal cases were initiated under Article 295 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (illegal actions concerning firearms, ammunition, and explosives). 5 protocols were drawn up for illegal actions concerning hunting smoothbore firearms and violation of rules for handling firearms, explosive, flammable, corrosive substances, or pyrotechnic products.

Illegal acquisition, storage, carrying, transportation of both firearms and their components, other illegal actions concerning firearms, ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices entail administrative and criminal liability. However, citizens who voluntarily surrender weapons and ammunition are exempt from liability.

The Postavy District Department of Internal Affairs operates "Hotline" telephones on an ongoing basis, through which you can get advice on issues related to weapon circulation, as well as report individuals illegally storing weapons, engaging in illegal hunting, and other illegal activities related to weapons.
