VSMU, Technical University of Munich become partners

VITEBSK, 13 March (BelTA) – The Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU) is the first Belarusian university to conduct tele-consultations with the Department of Surgery at the Technical University of Munich, Edouard Matevossian, MD, Department of Surgery, Technical University of Munich, told reporters. The Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU) and Department of Surgery at the Technical University of Munich became signed a cooperation agreement on 13 March. This agreement provides for the development of contacts in the academic and practical areas. Medical mutual contacts between the two establishments began about three years ago, said Anatoly Schastny, Associate Professor of the VSMU Department of Surgery, the head of the Vitebsk regional research practical center “Surgery of the diseases of liver and pancreas.” VSMU scientific reports rose interest among Munich colleagues and the head of the department proposed cooperation, especially, in transplantology. “The two scientific schools will join efforts in treatment of liver and pancreas diseases, transplantology,” Edouard Matevossian said. The German surgeon gave his first lecture at a scientific conference in Vitebsk. MD Edouard Matevossian told Belarusian colleagues about transplantology in Europe, its structure, systems of logistics and donorship.
