Third phase of upgrade project at Orsha Linen Mill estimated at ?70m

MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) - The third phase of the upgrade project at Orsha Linen Mill (Vitebsk Oblast) will cost about ?70 million, First Deputy Chairman of Bellegprom Group Sergei Misuragin told a press conference dedicated to Bellegprom’s performance in H1, BelTA has learnt.

“This project involves both reconstruction of the existing factories and installation of technological equipment,” said Sergei Misuragin. He added that at present Bellegprom is seeking additional funding and has applied to the government for support.

Orsha Linen Mill is one of the leading Belarusian exporters. For the past years the company has been financially sound, and has been ramping up the production, said Sergei Misuragin.

Speaking about OAO Kamvol (Minsk), Sergei Misuragin acknowledged that the process of technical re-equipment of the enterprise has been going difficult. Now Bellegprom and the Minsk City Council are looking for the best options for reconstruction. "Today the work is underway to maintain the aesthetic looks of the enterprise. Technology-wise we are moving forward,” said Sergei Misuragin. According to him, raising investment is also one of the main tasks in respect of this project.

Upgrade is a continuous process at the companies affiliated with Bellegprom Group, stressed Sergei Misuragin. "Virtually every company is doing upgrade projects,” he stated. The biggest projects, according to him, are in progress at Mogilev-based Lenta, Zhodino-based Svitanak, Baranovichi Garment Factory, OAO Mogotex, and ZAO Milavitsa.
