Information centers will be set up in Disna and Perebrodiye (Miory District), Bocheikovo (Beshenkovichi District). The centers will be opened in town halls and rural councils. The major objective of the project is to provide rural residents with an opportunity to learn computer skills and use them in dealing with personal problems. In particular, rural people will get access to state services which have been made available at the unified state service portal this year. By the end of 2011 the Swedish association plans to work out a draft concept on Vitebsk Oblast development which is to include an initiative of setting up 4 information centers. The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) represents the governmental, professional and employer-related interests of Sweden’s 290 municipalities, 18 county councils and two regions. In addition, the association implements dozens of projects in various countries, thereby supporting a policy of improving the systems of local representation in other states. One of the goals of the association is to create favorable conditions for the development of local and regional self-government.
