Polotsk District develops cooperation in sport with Latvia

VITEBSK, 13 October (BelTA) – A long-term tripartite agreement of intent for cooperation in physical education and sport between Polotsk District, Daugavpils and Rezekne Municipalities of Latvia was signed in Daugavpils following the international amateur ice hockey tournament, BelTA learned from the Polotsk district executive committee.

The agreement is aimed at developing cooperation in martial arts (judo, kickboxing, Taekwondo), swimming, rowing, track and field, weightlifting, game sports (football, futsal, beach soccer, basketball, volleyball, hockey), cross country, boxing, shooting and fencing.

Under the agreement Polotsk District, Daugavpils and Rezekne Municipalities will be able to send their athletes for open international competitions and events; exchange coaches, instructors, sports professionals and referees and also students of sports schools; provide summer recreation and sports holidays to Latvian young athletes at the sports and health camp "Lesnaya Skazka" (Polotsk District, Lake of Suya); implement investment projects in physical education and sport, international technical assistance and cross-border cooperation.
