Participants of Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon say goodbye to Belarus and leave for Moscow

VITEBSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The Participants of the fifth Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon said goodbye to Belarus and left for Russia, BelTA learned from Andrei Tsvetkov, head of the sport and tourism department of the Liozno Regional Executive Committee. Liozno has become the last Belarusian settlement that welcomed the participants of the marathon. The fifth Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon is held by organization “Bicycle for Peace and New Energies” within the framework of the movement “For Peace and Cooperation between Nations”. The marathon dedicated to the 65th anniversary of liberation of Europe from the Nazis is held under the motto “No to War! No to Nazism! We are for the World without Weapons!” The fifth cycling marathon started in Paris on July 4. It will finish in Moscow Red Square on August 29. Its participants arrived in Belarus from Poland on 6 August. In Belarus they covered 942 km. They visited many Belarusian towns and cities including Brest, Kobrin, Nesvizh, Minsk, Lepel, Vitebsk.
