Industrial output of Vitebsk enterprises 9% up in January-April

VITEBSK, 14 May (BelTA) – In H1 2010 Vitebsk enterprises should increase the industrial output growth rate up to 113%, Vitebsk Mayor Viktor Nikolaikin told the first session of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies of the 26th convocation on 14 May. With this output growth rate Vitebsk enterprises will be able to hit the 24% annual output growth target that the Vitebsk oblast administration has set. They will also be able to raise salaries of their workers and fulfill the five-year task by 1 November. In January-April 2010 the industrial output growth rate totaled 109.1%, consumer goods output growth rate – 105.4%, while the average salaries at enterprises and organizations of Vitebsk reached Br1,069,000. Salaries have to be earned, stressed Viktor Nikolaikin. Freeing up warehouses can be a way to achieve it. In January-April the value of commodities stockpiled in warehouses of Vitebsk enterprises is nearly as large as Br190 billion. Although the figure is more than Br50 billion lower than last year, there are still problems with sales. The Mayor called upon the newly elected deputies to do their best to help achieve targeted social and economic development goals of the city without staying indifferent to wishes of their electors. He called upon the deputies to work harder with people in their constituencies for the sake of implementing city accomplishment programs. Nikolai Smunev was elected Chairman of the Vitebsk City
