Belarusian musical traditions worthily represented at Slavonic Bazaar junior song contest

VITEBSK, 15 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian participants of the junior song contest held at the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk excellently represented the Belarusian traditions of musical art, First Deputy Culture Minister of Belarus Vladimir Rylatko told a press conference on 15 July. He praised the brilliant performance of Andrei Kolosov who was second at the international pop song contest Vitebsk 2009. “We are also glad about the performance of the participant from Russia. By the way, he once studied in Gomel where he and Andrei Kolosov had the same teacher,” he said. On 15 July the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk celebrates the Day of Belarus featuring a concert of Belarusian pop and folk singers. The director of the concert is Nina Osipova. “The concert will be staged in a very interesting way. Taking part in it will be performers of various generations, including many young singers and renowned artistes. By the way, all the tickets for the concert were sold out, the First Deputy Minister said. It is one of the few concerts that arouse such a great interest in the audience.
