Rescuers of Postavy District protect homes from disaster

In the fast pace of modern life, where every minute counts, we often overlook what is truly important – our safety. This is especially true for our home, the very place where we seek solitude, peace, and protection. Paradoxically, it is in the home environment, statistically, that a significant portion of fires occur, which can lead to irreparable losses. As of May 15, there have been 20 fires in the district, resulting in 3 fatalities. Recognizing this alarming reality, rescuers from the Postavy District Department of Emergency Situations conducted a special preventive event called "Home Without Fire."

The goal of the event is simple yet vitally important: to enhance the level of fire safety in residential areas, to make our homes more protected from the element of fire. Special attention was paid to residents of Novoselkovsky Rural Council and the city of Postavy. Rescuers not only conducted discussions but also thoroughly examined potential threats, focusing on key aspects that most often cause fires: careless handling of fire, burning dry vegetation, stove heating, and the condition of electrical wiring. In addition to monitoring potential threats, the presence and serviceability of autonomous fire detectors were checked, as well as knowledge of rules for calling emergency services.

Thanks to the tireless reminder of fire safety rules, it is possible to get closer to the cherished goal of the rescue department – for every home to become a reliable fortress, securely protected from fire.
