Observe safety rules in bad weather
During strong winds, it is recommended to limit leaving buildings and to stay indoors. Move away from windows and take a safe position near the walls of internal rooms, in the corridor, near built-in wardrobes, in bathrooms, toilets, storage rooms, in sturdy cabinets, under tables. It is also necessary to extinguish fires in stoves, turn off electricity, and close gas valves. In the dark, use flashlights, lamps, candles, and turn on a radio receiver for additional information. For safety, tape window panes with paper strips or scotch tape, or cover them with shutters or shields. It is important to keep children under special control and not leave them unattended.
When outdoors, in a park area, do not hide under tall trees; it is better to move 30-40 meters away from them. Do not hide from strong winds near house walls, as slate and other roofing materials may fall from roofs. The same applies to public transport stops, billboards, and unfinished buildings. To protect yourself from flying debris and glass shards, use plywood sheets, cardboard and plastic boxes, boards, and other improvised means. During a dust storm, cover your face with a gauze bandage, scarf, or piece of cloth, and your eyes with glasses. It is recommended to take shelter quickly in underpasses or building entrances. If you find yourself in a field or on a dirt road, go to main roads, which are periodically cleared and where there is a higher chance of receiving assistance.
Also, in such weather, it is advisable to limit long-distance travel outside populated areas and not to park your car near old trees.
In case of an emergency and if rescue operations are needed, it is necessary to immediately report it by calling the emergency services at "101" or "112".
