With the aim of consolidating society and uniting the Belarusian people based on the ideas of sovereignty and independence of the country, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 1 "On declaring 2021 the Year of National Unity." On June 7, 2021, Decree No. 206 was signed on holding a public holiday – National Unity Day. National Unity Day is celebrated on September 17. This day became an act of historical justice towards the Belarusian people, divided against their will in 1921 under the terms of the Riga Peace Treaty, and has forever been enshrined in the national historical tradition.

Employees of the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations took part in the civic-patriotic marathon "United" dedicated to National Unity Day. It is noteworthy that the start was given from Postavy land, and gradually, day by day, the main symbols of the Republic of Belarus will be passed from district to district until they reach the city of Vitebsk. This marathon was created to popularize the state symbols of the country, which in turn makes us a single whole.
