From December 27 to January 7, the State Automobile Inspectorate will hold a special event nationwide.
From December 27, 2019, to January 7, 2020, the State Automobile Inspectorate will hold the republican preventive campaign "Sobriety is the norm on the roads." State Automobile Inspectorate officers will pay special attention to intoxicated road users: drivers and pedestrians.
The fact is that during the New Year and Christmas holidays, most violations leading to road accidents occur on the road. The main task is to detain intoxicated road users who violate traffic rules.
For violating traffic rules, a pedestrian in a sober state is subject to a fine of up to three basic units. If the violation was recorded in a state of alcoholic intoxication, the offender will have to pay up to five basic units.
A driver who is caught driving while intoxicated for the first time is deprived of their driver's license for three years and receives a fine of up to 100 basic units.
If the violation was recorded repeatedly, it is already a criminal offense. The vehicle is confiscated, and rights are revoked. The offender also faces a fine of up to 1000 basic units.
The State Automobile Inspectorate also recommends that everyone wishing to attend festive events by personal transport check the route online in advance. Plan your trip to leave the vehicle in permitted places and not spoil your holidays if a tow truck takes your car away.
