From July 24 to 31, the State Automobile Inspectorate will intensify its work to prevent road accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles

During the summer, the problem of road traffic injuries caused by drivers of two-wheeled vehicles intensifies. Their insufficient level of discipline is often a contributing factor to road traffic accidents.

For example, in May-June 2018, 8 road traffic accidents were committed in the Vitebsk region due to motorcycle drivers, in which 3 people died and 6 received injuries of varying severity. Five accidents were committed by intoxicated drivers. Due to cyclists, during the specified period, 6 road traffic accidents occurred, in which one person died and 5 were injured.

Reminder: when riding a motorcycle, you must wear a fastened helmet, which the passenger must also wear. To attract the attention of other road users, you must drive with the low beam headlights or daytime running lights constantly on. A mandatory condition is timely registration of the vehicle and passing a technical inspection. Do not exceed the speed limit, avoid risky maneuvers and driving into the oncoming lane. It is in such situations that the most severe collisions occur.

Penalty: for untimely registration or re-registration of a vehicle - from 1 to 3 basic units; driving a vehicle by a person without a driving license - from 5 to 20 basic units; for driving a vehicle with a deliberately hidden, forged or otherwise altered registration plate (often motorcyclists try to outsmart police officers and photo enforcement cameras in this way) - from 10 to 20 basic units.
