From April 23 to April 30, 2021, the State Automobile Inspectorate is holding a preventive campaign

An analysis of the operational situation in road traffic indicates that every year in April-May, the problem of injuries to road users due to the fault of drivers of two-wheeled motor vehicles intensifies. In January-March 2021, 9 road accidents occurred with their participation, in which 10 people were injured. However, in just two days off (April 10-11, 2021), 2 people died in road accidents involving motorcyclists on the country's roads. Such incidents occurred in Minsk and Gomel region.

To prevent road accidents involving this category of drivers, the State Automobile Inspectorate is holding a preventive campaign "Motorcycle Movement - Without Violations!" from April 23 to April 30, 2021. During the events, settlements and adjacent roads will be patrolled to prevent and suppress violations of traffic rules by motorcycle drivers, using covert and mixed road traffic control, including the use of official motorcycles available in the State Automobile Inspectorate units.

Information and explanatory work will also be carried out in labor collectives, educational institutions, among representatives of relevant public associations and clubs, and with owners of motor vehicles regarding the procedure for obtaining a driver's license, registering a motorcycle or moped, and safe road behavior when operating two-wheeled vehicles.

The State Automobile Inspectorate urges owners of motor vehicles to strictly observe traffic rules. Remember, before getting behind the wheel of a motorcycle, you must ensure you have a driver's license of the appropriate category. Driving a motor vehicle without the appropriate category entails an administrative penalty in the form of a fine ranging from 5 to 20 basic units. The same actions, committed repeatedly within a year after the imposition of an administrative penalty for similar violations, entail a fine ranging from 20 to 50 basic units or administrative arrest. Do not forget about the use of passive safety equipment, in particular a motorcycle helmet.
