From June 22 to 26, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Postavy District Department of Internal Affairs is holding a preventive campaign "Speed"
The purpose of the campaign is to strengthen driver discipline in observing speed limits.
Increased attention of traffic police officers will be focused on preventing speeding, violations of overtaking and maneuvering rules. When on duty, inspectors will use overt, covert, and mixed control over speed limits.
Analysis of the operational situation on the roads of the region indicates that in the spring-summer period, the number of accidents related to drivers exceeding the established speed limit or incorrectly choosing it taking into account road conditions sharply increases. Such road accidents, as a rule, lead to serious consequences.
The traffic police reminds that:
- Exceeding the speed by 10 to 20 km/h is punishable by a fine of up to one base unit.
- Exceeding the speed by 20 to 30 km/h will result in a fine of one to three base units.
- For exceeding the speed by 30 km/h or more – a fine of three to ten base units (from 73 rubles 50 kopecks to 245 rubles).
If a similar violation is detected repeatedly within a year, drivers are fined an amount from five to fifteen base units (from 122 rubles 50 kopecks to 367 rubles 50 kopecks) or deprived of the right to drive a car for up to one year.
In order to ensure road safety, preserve people's lives and health, the traffic police urges drivers to observe the established speed limits!
