From January 19 to 25, the State Automobile Inspectorate (GAI) is conducting a set of preventive measures titled "Save a Child's Life!"

In the elapsed period of 2024, 2 road traffic accidents involving minors occurred in the Vitebsk region, in which a child pedestrian and a child passenger were injured.

In 2023, there was an increase in road traffic accidents involving child passengers (2022 - 11, 2023 - 14). In 2 accidents, child passengers died. By the end of the year, the number of road traffic accidents involving child passengers increased in a number of districts:

Vitebsk district (from 2 to 4),

Rossony district (from 0 to 2),

Dokshitsy and Shumilino districts (from 0 to 1).

Also, by the end of 2023, the number of road traffic accidents involving child pedestrians increased, with 18 minors injured in 16 accidents (2022 - 15):

in Vitebsk (from 4 to 8),

in Orsha,

in Rossony (from 0 to 2),

in Polotsk and Postavy (from 0 to 1) districts.

The main goal of the preventive campaign is to minimize negative trends, timely response to the current road traffic situation in the field of child road traffic injuries, based on the analysis of accident rates and forecast indicators.
