Fishing is a wonderful form of active recreation
Not everyone considers the dangers that can befall an angler while fishing. Yet, any body of water, even a familiar one, poses a certain risk:
May 23, a tragic incident occurred at a pond near the village of Voronilovichi, Pruzhany district. A 54-year-old man drowned while fishing. The man was fishing from the shore. His fishing hook got caught on an unknown object in the water. The fisherman went into the water to free the tackle but lost his balance, fell, and drowned.
June 15, a 57-year-old resident of Brest drowned. The man was fishing with friends on the bank of the Rowing Canal. During fishing, his fishing rod fell into the water. The fisherman swam after it and began to drown. His friends rushed to help him but were unable to save him.
June 19, fishing on the Dnieper River near the village of Stradubka almost cost a 63-year-old man his life. The pensioner went fishing in a boat. At some point, the man lost his balance, fell out of the boat, and could not get out of the water on his own. Thanks to a life jacket, he stayed afloat for half an hour, holding onto the small vessel, and the bright color of the life jacket attracted the attention of a passerby who immediately called rescuers.
