The Republican campaign "Pedestrian" is being conducted by the State Automobile Inspectorate from October 2 to October 12

The republican preventive campaign "Pedestrian" will be held from October 2 to October 12 in Belarus.

The preventive campaign is conducted to minimize negative trends in road safety, improve the effectiveness of internal affairs bodies in eliminating the causes and conditions of road injuries. It is aimed at preventing road accidents involving pedestrians, popularizing the use of retroreflective elements and high-visibility vests in the dark.

A pedestrian crossing is a place of increased danger where most collisions occur. When approaching a pedestrian crossing, drivers must slow down and give way to pedestrians. At the same time, pedestrians must also ensure it is safe to enter the roadway.

To minimize tragedies on the roads, drivers and pedestrians must observe all prescribed rules and treat each other with respect. In the dark, to become more visible, it is necessary to use reflective elements. In addition, one should not run across the street outside designated areas or suddenly enter the roadway from behind vehicles that obstruct the driver's view.
