Prevention of dacha thefts
As practice shows, the largest number of thefts, including those from dacha houses located in garden cooperatives, occur between October and April, i.e., when dacha owners are absent from their garden plots.
In case of illegal entry into a dacha house, this fact often remains undetected for a long time due to the prolonged absence of owners from their dacha plots, mainly until their next visit.
Currently, it is much easier to prevent theft than to find a criminal and return stolen property to its rightful owner.
In this regard, dacha plot owners must first take measures to preserve their property. The most effective way to protect it is to equip the dacha house with technical means of autonomous security alarms from the Department of Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, with the alarm signal sent to the owner's mobile phone.
Another measure to prevent thefts from gardening cooperatives is the installation of video surveillance systems, both directly by the owners themselves and at the main entrances and road sections.
If such an opportunity is not available, other measures can be taken to preserve your property:
– Do not leave valuable items at the dacha. Take them with you to the city or leave them with trusted neighbors who permanently reside in the locality where your dacha is located;
– Make access to the dwelling as difficult as possible for outsiders. Install strong doors, equip them with complex locks, and put bars on the windows;
– Ask
neighbors who permanently reside in the village (garden cooperative) to look after
your house and immediately report any incidents that have occurred with your
property.
In case of lost keys, immediately replace the locks;
– If a theft has occurred, immediately report it to the police. Before the police arrive, try to preserve the traces of the crime.
Be vigilant! If you discover suspicious individuals, unfamiliar vehicles, or unattended items in the territory of garden cooperatives and dacha settlements, immediately report it to the operational duty service of the Postavy District Department of Internal Affairs by calling 102.
