Prevention of child injuries on the railway
From August 4 to August 17, 2025, a set of additional measures will be carried out in the Postavy district at transport facilities to prevent offenses and accidents involving minors, and to prevent acts of illegal interference in railway operations.
Very often, due to a lack of proper adult supervision, the railway becomes a playground for children and teenagers. Children who play on railway tracks endanger their lives and health. Such games very often end tragically. In turn, the carelessness of children threatens the safety of train movement, the lives and health of railway workers and passengers, and the safety of railway rolling stock and cargo.
Parents, let's protect the younger generation from accidents. It is necessary to explain to children the rules of conduct on the railway from an early age. The railway is a zone of increased danger for all people, especially for children.
It is important not to leave a child unattended. It is necessary to explain to children and teenagers that the railway is not a place for games and walks.
It should be noted that the railway is dangerous only for those who do not follow the rules, who are inattentive and careless, and undisciplined in the dangerous zone. The rules for railway transport are simple; you just need to follow them:
- do not walk on the tracks;
- cross and drive across tracks only in specially designated areas. Do not cross railway tracks where it is convenient or to save time. There are specially equipped railway crossings for safe passage;
- when crossing, make sure there is no approaching train;
- do not crawl under wagons, do not climb onto the roofs of wagons, locomotives;
- when approaching the railway, remove headphones, as you may not hear the signals of an approaching train;
- do not approach a moving train;
- do not run or ride bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, and other means of transportation on station platforms and stopping points;
- do not jump from passenger platforms;
- do not lean out of train windows and vestibule doors;
- do not climb on or touch the supports and structures of the contact network, overhead power lines.
Children imitate adult behavior, and it is important to show by personal example how to behave correctly on the railway.
The railway requires increased attention and strict adherence to safety rules! Dear adults! Do not indifferently pass by children's mischief near the railway. Remember that the railway is not a place for children's games.
