The State Automobile Inspectorate will hold preventive measures "Safe Holidays" from December 26 to January 12 in the Vitebsk region.

During these days, traffic police officers will conduct informational and explanatory work in institutions of general secondary, vocational, and secondary specialized education, as well as in labor collectives and organizations, to prevent offenses among teenagers. Drivers are urged to use passive safety devices (car seats, boosters, special cushions) when transporting young passengers to recreation areas and children's entertainment events in personal vehicles, and to ensure the safety of children on buses as part of organized groups.

In winter, the likelihood of road accidents sharply increases. Winter days are shorter, and it gets dark early, so special attention is required at dusk and in the dark. Cross the road only at underpasses, overpasses, or regulated crossings, and in their absence, at a well-visible section, making sure there is no approaching vehicle. In the dark, it is necessary to identify oneself with retroreflective elements.
