The State Automobile Inspectorate will hold preventive measures "Safe Holidays" from April 1 to April 6 in the Vitebsk region.
The State Automobile Inspectorate urges parents to remind children to observe traffic rules during the spring holidays.
The State Automobile Inspectorate appeals to parents:
1. Be sure to remind children about traffic rules, discuss possible dangerous situations on the road, and explain how to cross the road safely and correctly. Purchase bright clothing with retroreflective elements for children so that the child is visible on the road.
Reminder:
- pedestrians must move along sidewalks or pedestrian paths, and in their absence, along the shoulders;
- when moving along shoulders or the edge of the roadway in the dark or in conditions of insufficient visibility, pedestrians are recommended to carry items with retroreflective elements and ensure the visibility of these items to vehicle drivers;
- pedestrians must cross the roadway at pedestrian crossings, and in their absence — at intersections along the line of sidewalks or shoulders;
- at uncontrolled pedestrian crossings, pedestrians may enter the roadway after assessing the distance to approaching vehicles, their speed, and ensuring that the crossing will be safe for them. Also, do not cross the street in the wrong place, even if you are in a great hurry.
2. In addition, with the onset of warm weather, drivers of motorized vehicles and bicycles, especially teenagers, become more active. Dear parents! Remember, a young driver who has not undergone special training, does not have sufficient knowledge of traffic, driving skills and experience, by driving a vehicle, endangers both themselves and other road users!
It should be noted that a bicycle is also a vehicle. All traffic rules requirements related to vehicles apply equally to bicycles. The age for driving a bicycle on public roads is not younger than 14 years.
