The traffic police preventive campaign "Motorcyclist" starts in Postavy district on April 27
Every year, with the onset of warm weather, the problem of injuries to motorcyclists and their passengers becomes more acute. Despite the fact that the weather is not yet warm enough, a significant number of two-wheeled motor vehicles have already appeared on the roads.
The Traffic Police preventive campaign "Motorcyclist" starts in Postavy District on April 27 and will last until May 4.
The main goal of the preventive campaign is to foster mutual respect among road users and to suppress hooligan actions by motorcyclists. Motorists should also remember that two-wheeled motor vehicles are on the road.
Traffic Police officers will conduct covert and mixed road traffic control, including the use of official motorcycles. DPS patrols will be as close as possible to places where entertainment, sports, and other mass events for young people and recreation areas for citizens are held, especially in the evening and at night.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds motorcyclists: strict adherence to traffic rules is a decisive condition for safe motorcycle trips.
Traffic Police officers also compiled a selection of tips based on the experience of the best motorcyclists.
Firstly, it is important to remain calm and judicious while driving, and to operate the motorcycle as safety conditions require. There may be reckless, undisciplined drivers nearby, so do not succumb to their influence and engage in senseless motorcycle races.
Secondly, never assume that you have reached the pinnacle of motorcycle control skill: a high-speed machine and the road can play a cruel trick at any moment.
Thirdly, it is worth considering that motorcyclists are less protected than car drivers, who can be saved from injuries by the car body. Therefore, do not forget to fasten your motorcycle helmet; it helps save lives, health, and reduce the severity of injuries in an accident.
