Vitebsk region launched the campaign "Don't let yourself be deceived"

Due to the increase in cybercrimes, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee is holding a regional preventive campaign "Don't let yourself be deceived" from April 27 to 29.

This year, almost 600 citizens of Vitebsk region have suffered from the actions of cybercriminals.

Women are deceived 2 times more often than men.

Among the victims are representatives of almost all spheres of activity.

The amount of stolen money exceeds 750 thousand Belarusian rubles.

Under various pretexts, fraudsters force their victims to provide them with personal information online or during a conversation.

Due to ignorance of basic rules for protecting personal information, fraudsters involve citizens in their criminal schemes to transfer stolen money.

To avoid becoming a victim of cybercriminals, you need to:

- safely use mobile applications of financial services;
- do not engage in phone conversations about money with unknown persons;
- do not perform any actions at the request of strangers;
- resolve all financial issues independently at banks;
- carefully check the bank's website address. Fake websites are externally identical to official websites.
