During special operations on the Belarusian-Russian border, Vitebsk customs officers prevented two attempts to transport large consignments of foreign-made goods from Russia using invalid documents.
Clothing, footwear, bags, auto parts, and other items were being imported by one individual entrepreneur in two trucks.
During the inspection, customs officers found that the sender and recipient indicated in the documents submitted for control were residents of the Russian Federation and had not carried out this supply; information about the goods themselves was also incorrect.
The total value of the contents of the two vehicles exceeded 2.4 million Belarusian rubles. Goods worth 930 thousand Belarusian rubles were imported into the customs territory of the EAEU from third countries, and there were no documents confirming the payment of customs duties.
The Vitebsk Customs initiated administrative proceedings in accordance with Article 13.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. The article provides for a fine of up to 50% of the value of the items of administrative offense.
