Fire in a smokehouse building on the premises of the Postavy branch of the Vitebsk Regional Consumer Society

On 17.01.2026 at 04:33, the Operations Control Center of the Postavy District Department of the Ministry for Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in a smokehouse building on the premises of the Postavy branch of the Vitebsk Regional Consumer Society at Kooperativnaya Street in Postavy. No injuries were reported. The smokehouse operations have been suspended. The extent of the damage is being assessed. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The possible causes of the fire being considered are: 1. violation of the operating requirements for heat-generating units and devices (boiler overheating). 2. violation of the operating rules for electrical networks and equipment (a short circuit in the electrical wiring).
