Fire in a private house in Postavy district, in which a disabled person of the 1st group died

On January 6, 2021, at 16:31, the operational control center of the Postavy District Department for Emergency Situations received a report about a fire in the village of Polovo, Voropaevsky Rural Council, Postavy District.

Upon arrival at the scene, open burning of the house's roof was observed, and it had partially collapsed. At the time of the fire, the owner's son, born in 1958, was in the house with his cohabitant, born in 1982, and her father, born in 1951, a 1st group disabled person.

The owner's son and the cohabitant left the house on their own and were not injured. During the firefighting and dismantling of building structures at the fire scene, a charred body of a man, the cohabitant's father, was found under a layer of collapsed building structures.

As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, and property in the house were destroyed by fire, and the walls were damaged.

An investigation is underway into this incident, and the cause of the fire is being established.

In the first 11 days of 2021, 1 fire occurred in the Postavy District (-2 compared to the same period in 2020), in which 1 person died.
