It is increasingly common to see ice fishing enthusiasts alongside rescue workers, and this is not new, as throughout the fishing season, raids are organized where preventive work is carried out directly at the site of potential danger with people whose careless step can lead to tragic consequences.

 Often such people stubbornly stand by their conviction:

- I've been going out in any weather my whole life, as soon as the ice gets strong, and nothing - I'm alive!

What is most frightening in such a situation is that with such a point of view, they also incline others to similar actions; such a phenomenon can be attributed to survivorship bias. And how many people who never returned from a harmless hobby could prove otherwise?! Therefore, the only and correct option for rescue in the first minutes is a life jacket!

Today, not only fishermen but also those who want to cleanse themselves and test their bodies in the harsh conditions of a real winter fell into the rescuers' field of vision. After detailed instructions from OSVOD and MES rescuers, people confidently stepped into the ice hole, many of whom later shared unique sensations.

- Consciously and prepared, stepping into the icy water, you try to get out and warm up faster, but what about those who fall through unexpectedly?

Therefore, to prevent trouble, the MES representative once again reminded that it is necessary to observe safety measures, before going out on the ice, you should make sure that it is strong enough and, most importantly, have ice rescue equipment with you.
