A Latvian carrier attempted to save approximately 16 thousand rubles in customs duties by not declaring part of the goods imported into the EAEU territory in the documents. Now, the carrier will have to pay the outstanding duties, as well as a fine for committing an administrative offense.
A DAF truck with consolidated cargo arrived for clearance at the Grigorovshchina checkpoint, where it was inspected by Vitebsk customs officers.
It was established that 140 units of household appliances, audio equipment, dishes, textiles, and bedding were actually in the vehicle but were not listed in the accompanying documents.
The value of the "undeclared" goods amounted to about 155 thousand rubles.
The Vitebsk Customs initiated administrative proceedings against the Latvian carrier in accordance with Part 1 of Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus (non-declaration). The fine, according to the article's sanction, will be up to 30% of the value of the illegally moved goods.
