Attempts to swim across the body of water

Caution on the water is, first and foremost, a necessity. People (even those who swim well) swim out to deep water and cannot return to shore. Some organize competitions to overcome obstacles. But not everyone can accurately assess their strength:

On July 3, a tragic incident occurred on a lake near the village of Polonevichi, Dzerzhinsky District. A 34-year-old resident of Minsk was relaxing on the lake with friends. In the evening, while intoxicated, he decided to swim across the body of water. The man did not reach the other shore by just a few meters. He went under the water. Eyewitnesses pulled him ashore. Despite the first aid provided, he could not be saved.

On June 10, eyewitnesses rescued a drowning 55-year-old woman from the Berezina River in Svetlogorsk. It was later discovered that the woman, while swimming across the river, misjudged her strength and, due to the high parapet of the embankment, could not get out onto the shore on her own.

On August 8, a swimmer in Grodno was rescued who almost drowned while attempting to swim across a lake. The incident occurred on Lake Yubileynoye. A 54-year-old man, while relaxing at the body of water, decided to cool off and went to the water. At some point, he decided to swim across it. At a distance of about 150 m from the shore, his strength failed him. Fortunately, rescuers arrived in time.

The carelessness of a 31-year-old resident of Grodno also almost led to tragedy. On August 6, he was swimming in the Neman River near the Pyshki rescue post. At some point, the man swam beyond the buoys, and he was carried away by a strong current. Rescuers in a boat pulled the drowning man out of the water.

It is prohibited:

- to swim beyond the restrictive markers and to move away from the shore for significant distances while swimming, as well as to swim across a body of water without urgent necessity (rescuing people).
