Unsupervised teenagers near water
Special emphasis should be placed on the safety of teenagers near bodies of water. They sometimes behave too carelessly, overconfidently, run and play near the water, feeling no danger. Parents must understand that no matter how old a child is, whether a preschooler or a student, they should not be near water unsupervised by adults. And it is the parents who are obliged to talk to their children about everything that can happen, warn them about the danger, and explain the consequences:
An accident occurred on June 23 on the Sukhodrovka River in the Vitebsk region. A group of children were swimming in the river unsupervised by adults, with an eighth-grader being the oldest among them. Suddenly, an 8-year-old boy began to drown, and the girl rushed to his aid. She saved the boy but could not get out herself. The children on the shore got scared and ran to the village for adults. The father of the drowned girl ran to save his daughter, and a neighbor drove to the medical outpatient clinic and brought two doctors. Before the ambulance arrived, the doctors performed resuscitation measures. The girl could not be saved.
On July 11, a 10-year-old boy drowned in the Iput River near the agro-town of Ulukovie, Gomel district. A resident of Zhlobin came with two children to a friend in a village near Gomel. The man suggested a walk to the Iput River. The 10-year-old boy went down to the river, accompanied by his 8-year-old sister. When the girl said that her brother was drowning, the mother's acquaintance went as deep as possible into the water but could not reach the drowning child. The section of the bank was not equipped for swimming. The boy's body was pulled out of the water by an arriving OSVOD employee. It was later learned that neither the man, nor the boy, nor his mother knew how to swim.
On July 13, a 15-year-old girl drowned in Lake Litovka near the village of the same name in the Novogrudok district. According to local residents, a group of young people were relaxing on the lake at night. The underage girl, a resident of one of the surrounding villages, decided to swim with her friend. A 33-year-old man also went into the water. He noticed that the teenagers began to cling to each other in the deep water, realized they were drowning, and rushed to help. The girls began to grab the man's arms. But he himself was a poor swimmer, so he returned to the shore and called rescuers. The body of the 15-year-old girl was recovered from the water, and her 14-year-old friend was hospitalized.
In Lepel, a teenager sustained serious injuries during a beach holiday. The incident occurred on July 24. A group of four minors was relaxing on the bank of the Ulla River. The boy, who turned 15 that day, decided to dive into the river from a cliff. Misjudging his strength, the young man hit the sandy bank of the river. An eyewitness fishing nearby called an ambulance. The teenager was urgently hospitalized.
On July 28, a 13-year-old teenager drowned in the Shchara River in Slonim. The events unfolded as follows. Several children were relaxing on the river within the city limits. One of them jumped into the water, and then, stumbling, found himself in deep water. Friends first tried to help themselves, and then turned to passing kayakers. They helped pull the body out of the water: the teenager could not be saved.

Important! Rules for parents: - do not let your child go to the beach alone; - do not lose sight of them when they are swimming (do not rely on the fact that the child is already grown up and swims well); - choose an equipped beach, as lifeguards are on duty there. |
