Why Postavy District

Postavy District (industrial district) has a favorable geographical location and possesses a number of advantages compared to other districts of Vitebsk region. The district is located in the southwest of Vitebsk region and borders with Minsk and Grodno regions, as well as with the Republic of Lithuania. Convenient geographical location, the presence of a developed transport and logistics infrastructure (republican roads pass through the district, there is a railway connection), as well as the placement of a free economic zone "Vitebsk" sector in Postavy makes the district attractive and promising for business development. 

Promising directions for the sustainable socio-economic development of the district include the further development of the industrial complex through the modernization of existing enterprises, the construction of new ones, with the introduction of new technologies, technological equipment that allows improving the quality characteristics of manufactured products, high added value of production, and, first of all, through attracting private capital.

Construction of a mining pool, energy-intensive production.
On the territory of Postavy district near the village of Birvito, Kuropolsky rural council, there is a 330 kV Postavy substation, as well as 330 kV lines, two of which have a direct connection to the high-voltage switchgear of the Belarusian NPP, which allows for power output up to 500 MW. Next to the electrical installation there is a land plot occupied by woody and shrubby vegetation, with an area of 5.7482 hectares and suitable for the construction of buildings and structures.
