Annually, commemorative events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for Internationalist Soldiers are held throughout the republic. In our district, too, meetings began to take place in educational institutions on the eve of this date. Thus, on February 12, students of Postavy State College met with Valery Lushchik, chairman of the district organization of internationalist soldiers and a participant in combat operations in Afghanistan, as well as Afghan veterans Valery Goryachko and Tazhidin Miralov.

Together with students and teachers, they honored the memory of their fallen countrymen — graduates of the educational institution Mikhail Lapko and Alexander Urbel — at the memorial plaque dedicated to the heroes. Then, the conversation about the events of that war, far from Belarus, continued at the exhibition and in the college assembly hall.

On the same day, representatives of the district executive committee, rural executive committees, social services, military units, and the public visited the burial sites of internationalist soldiers Radion Mishuto, Alexander Urbel, and Mikhail Lapko. Participants of the motor rally laid wreaths and flowers at the graves of the fallen and honored their memory with a minute of silence.
